This photo session challenged me as a Utah fashion photographer. Fashion/editorial photography is something I haven’t explored very much up to this point. Working with Bil’s Bracelets to shoot stylized images with models became the perfect opportunity to experiment with fashion photography. Bil Beverly is the founder of Bil’s Bracelets. I love the story behind how his company started, so I want to share that with you here.

The Story Behind Bil’s Bracelets

Bil says: “I was born and raised in North Philadelphia by my mother along with two younger brothers. As a youth my passion was playing and watching sports. As I grew older I started to develop an eye and admiration for fashion. Jewelry became a big part of my style and I often wore bangle bracelets. In 2010 a co-worker complimented me on a bracelet that I was wearing that day. After admiring the bracelet my co-worker inquired where could she purchase one for herself. My response was “I made it myself!” She was so impressed that she suggested that I consider designing one for women…

The rest was history, and Bil’s Bracelets by Design was birthed. My bracelets are a collection of high quality semi precious gemstones from around the world that has an array of healing and spiritual properties. I truly enjoy the collaboration of beauty and substance, which comes to life when I individually design each piece.”

Bil’s bracelets are so unique and fashion forward, and I love that he has created bracelets that are so versatile: they appeal to both men and women and can coordinate easily with many different styles and outfits. Camille and Kwaku were wonderful models and I so enjoyed working with them in my first little foray into fashion photography.
