Professional Quilt Photographer

Several years ago as a college student, I worked part-time at a local quilt shop. Little did I know back then that someday I would become a professional quilt photographer! I grew up with my mom sewing most of the dresses my sisters and I wore to church, grandmas who both loved to sew, and an aunt who was a professional seamstress, so I learned to sew pretty early on. I’m obsessed with fabric and especially love to sew from scratch and refashion clothing for myself and my little girl. Working at the quilt shop during college was such a dream job. I organized pretty fabric and helped customers put together fabrics that coordinated well together for quilts. I cut fabric for customers, plus I received an employee discount for all the fabric I bought!

Quilt Pattern Photos

Corinne, the talented designer behind Frannie B. Quilt Co, reached out to me about taking pictures of a quilt for her to advertise her fabric and quilt pattern. The prospect of taking photos of a fabric industry product for the first time thrilled me! Corinne designs fabric for Riley Blake, with her most recent collection, Rocky Mountain Wild, featured in the quilt pattern above. I feel a special connection to this fabric collection, because Corinne used the wildflowers native to the Rocky Mountains as her inspiration. These are the same mountain wildflowers that grow in the mountains I hike and camp in all the time. Corinne has also begun creating quilt patterns, and her Peaks Quilt pattern was used to make the quilt in these photos. I absolutely loved shooting these quilt photos, and I love how the images turned out!
