Logan Pageant Headshot Photographer
As a Logan pageant headshot photographer, I ensure that the photos I capture let your inner and outer beauty shine! When you enter a pageant competition, you need to submit sharp, well-lit images of yourself. It’s best for the background to be simple, whether pure white or another solid color. This allows the focus of the image to be on you, without any distractions. For this pageant photoshoot of beautiful Gauri, I used a white backdrop. I also used my studio lighting equipment (Godox flashes with Magmod modifiers) to light Gauri from above camera right. A second light was placed behind Gauri, slightly left and lower down to reduce the shadows on the left side of her face.
Miss Salt Lake City Competition Headshots
Gauri grew up in the same area of Cache Valley where I live, but she’s been attending college in Salt Lake City. As a brilliant student, Gauri plans to attend medical school after finishing her bachelor’s degree. She contacted me while visiting her family in Cache Valley. Gauri found out she needed to submit headshots quickly in order to meet a competition deadline for her Miss Salt Lake City application. We put together a quick headshot session for her in my home so that we could get the shots taken as quickly as possible. I love that the outfit and jewelry she chose pays homage to her Indian heritage. After shooting the headshots, I put my SD card into computer immediately. I showed Gauri the freshly captured images on my computer screen. This allowed Gauri to see the images clearly and choose the shots she loved most.
My Headshot Editing Process
When I edit professional pageant headshots like Gauri’s, my editing process is more extensive than a regular portrait session. I often adjust the background color in post processing since it’s difficult to get it completely pure white in camera. I also do my best to make sure that any adjustments I’m making to the colors and exposure are accurately reflecting my subject’s real-life complexion and color of their hair, eyes, and other features. I make adjustments to the highlights, shadows, and vibrance to emphasize the subject’s beautiful natural features. I showed Gauri the beginning parts of my editing process so that she could give feedback. She helped me ensure that my editing process created a true reflection of herself. Here’s a little before and after to show you where I started with a raw image vs. the edited image:
