Intimate Wedding at Saguaro Lake | Arizona Wedding Photographer
Last weekend, I was so honored to photograph Kiersten and Zach’s intimate lakeside wedding on the shores of beautiful Saguaro Lake, just northeast of Mesa, Arizona in the Tonto National Forest. Kiersten is the sister of my sweet friend & fellow young women leader, Nikki, and she was the most beautiful bride! It was so fun to get to know Kiersten, Zach and their families as I documented their wedding day! Zach and Kiersten chose to get married on a beautiful, warm afternoon in March. The weather could not have been more perfect, in fact just a few days before the wedding it had been so chilly when I drove up to take a look around the location that I was sure I’d need a jacket while taking the bridal portraits at sunset, but on the day of the wedding it was a perfect warm spring day!
Kiersten and Zach decided to keep their wedding small and simple by inviting only their closest family members and forgoing some of the typical wedding traditions. Instead of walking down the aisle with a large bridal party, the bride and groom shared a “first look” together a few minutes before the wedding ceremony. The bishop who officiated the ceremony gave some wonderful advice on marriage to Zach and Kiersten before inviting them to join him under the arch to exchange vows. After a joyful first kiss as a married couple, Kiersten and Zach were congratulated by so many loving family members.
Capturing Zach and Kiersten’s bridal portraits during the beautiful golden hour before sunset was one of my very favorite parts of the day! We took some of their bridal photos at the Butcher Jones beach area of Saguaro Lake where the ceremony was held, and the rest at a beautiful lookout point along the Bush Highway just a few minutes away. I love bridal portraits because after the ceremony ends, the feeling of wedding day nerves subsides and the bride and groom get to breathe easier, relax and enjoy each other. Kiersten and Zach make a gorgeous couple and are the cutest together. It’s easy to tell that they are truly each other’s best friend and love making each other laugh! I so enjoyed being a part of such an important day for Zach and Kiersten, and I’m so excited to share some of my favorite photos from their wedding day with you!
