Commercial Photography for Amazon Third Party Sellers
Commercial Photography for Amazon Third Party Sellers
When I create commercial photography images for Amazon third party sellers, I strategize every shot. Amazon has some very specific requirements for its product photos. My clients who sell products on Amazon must adhere to those requirements. Each listing only recieves a handful of product images, so it’s important that each image fits those requirements. A great image clearly shows the customer why they should buy the product over any other competitor product.
Tips for great Amazon listing photos
I want to make my clients’ product photos stand out from their competitors’ similar products on Amazon. To do this, I ensure the main product photo on white background is sharp, well lit, and true to color. It’s great when I can clearly showcase both the appearance and functionality of the product simultaneously. The image on white you’ll see in this post showing the cookies in the cookie jar is an example. For additional listing photos, I like to show the product in a lifestyle setting, being used by a model. The model demonstrates how the product can enhance the customer’s life.
The perfect lifestyle setting
For this shoot, I used a beautiful modern Airbnb space in my area that rents hourly for photo shoots. I found its lovely kitchen to be the perfect lifestyle setting for the cookie jar product I photographed. To style the product, I hired a model and bought chocolate chip cookies and chocolate chip cookie ingredients. Through photography, we told a story about baking cookies and using the cute cookie jar container to store them. This technique allows the Amazon customer to see themselves in that story. It helps them connect with and choose to buy my client’s cookie jar instead of another sold on Amazon. I love how these commercial photography images for Amazon turned out. My client really loved the result too!
