2019 Shoot and Share Photography Contest Results
The 2019 Shoot and Share photography contest results are in! For the past three years, I have entered some of my photos in the Shoot and Share contest. It’s a fun and free contest that anyone can enter, whether a professional photographer or beginner photographer or even iPhone photographer! Anyone can vote in this contest too, and the voting is totally visual (choosing between 4 photos in the same category without knowing who the photographer was or any other information about the photos) which keeps the contest fair. Voting in the contest is totally addicting, it’s so much fun to see the talent and unique perspectives from so many different photographers. It’s truly inspiring to see so much creativity, and it always gives me ideas of new things I want to try with my photography! And it’s always exciting at the end to see the phenomenal photos that win the very top places in the contest, as well as so interesting to see what’s currently trending in the photography world.
I’m so excited to announce that for the first time, out of 400,000 photos entered into 25 different categories, one of my photos was a finalist! My finalist photo came in at #159 out of 3009 photos in its category. It means a lot to me that my first ever finalist photo was one of my passion portrait images. As most of you know, my husband and I struggled with infertility for years before we were able to have our daughter via IVF, so when I can, I love to gift photo sessions to couples who are struggling with infertility. This image is from an adoption announcement session with Suparada and Matt who needed photos for their adoption profile that they would be sending out to birth mothers, along with using to announce their intent to adopt to their family and friends. I’m so glad this photo resonated with so many people and that it could raise awareness of how beautiful adoption is. And a happy update: since the photos were taken last summer, Suparada and Matt have been able to adopt a beautiful baby girl!
I also had some other photos that came in at the top 20% and top 30% of categories with 10,000-40,000 photos, so I’m pretty happy about that too! You can see some of those high ranking photos below as well. As always, thank you for all of your support and for trusting me to capture the moments that mean so much to you. It’s seriously such an honor to me and means more to me than any award!
